These days with the new wave of 'next gen' consoles, the trend is for everything to be hyper real, high polygon and high detail.

That's the reason why I've taken the step to revert back to the glory days of old school 2D artwork in my games.

For now at least, the games I produce in GameMaker will be strictly 2D as I'm currently getting a real buzz from going back to the old school approach
