gamesindie games Snowy Joe

game background

This game is intended as a free giveaway and should kill around 10 minutes of your time. Enjoy!

This is a side scrolling platform puzzle game. The game has a winter theme and a nice 'cutesy' art style. The game is comprised of a tutorial level along with 10 exciting levels.

To complete a level, the main goal is to guide Snowy Joe safely back to his igloo; this will unlock the next level. If you complete this task for the 10 levels, you'll be shown the first ending to the story.

However to see the alternate ending, you must also collect all the presents along the way. Good luck.

I set out to produce this game with minimal on-screen text. One of the main challenges was to produce a tutorial level with no text.

I hope it works. The game also has a 'cutscene' introduction and two endings (once again with no text) depending on how you perform in the game.

Review from RockPaperShotgun

From the creator of a sweet little indie game Twister, Gray Poyda’s new game is something he describes to us as a, little winter giveaway. Just like in the old days :)

It’s a platformer, where you use your arsenal of snowballs to shoot down bonuses, access keys, and unlock the exit door to the level.

It’s very reminiscent of those chunky platform games you’d play the demo of from the ST Format coverdisc, enjoy, but never buy the full version for. Capturing that atmosphere of brevity and clumsy fun, it’s a little bit of seasonal light-heartedness to see you through a cold, winter’s spare hour or two.
